Every day is a New Beginning


New Beginnings Community Development Center, Inc. (New Beginnings)    is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization that was founded in 1995 by Bishop Oscar & Mrs. Diane Lewis to confront the problem of truancy and teen pregnancy among young people in the depressed neighborhoods of Riviera Beach, Florida.  New Beginnings’ initial service concept-truancy, teen pregnancy and HIV prevention programs, has unfolded into a collaborative community effort that has united service providers, local residents, children and families in both Palm Beach and Broward county for over fifteen (15) years. 

The organization’s mission is Child-Centered and Family Focused. 

New Beginnings is the place where parents can go to get information on raising and educating their children.  While services vary depending on the center, most offer assistance in the following core areas: Parenting education information and referral to other community services; Child health and development. To deliver top-notch, comprehensive family development opportunities and community services to the residents of our neighborhood, while providing leadership and a positive vision to the people of the community.

To reduce recidivism, teach pro-social skills, values and behavior.  Instill self-discipline, responsibility and accountability.  New Beginnings Community Development Center, Inc. is to enrich the lives of youth and their families to educate and enable them to attain their full potential in life.  To empower youth and families, socially, intellectually, physically, spiritually, emotionally, and academically. 

New Beginnings has been bolstering its work with children and families in the city of West Palm Beach for the past six (6) years and the city of Riviera Beach for 14 years.
